I ordered and returned this tire storage system, for two reasons:
1.) As I was about to mount it on the wall, I noticed that there were numerous small scratches on the finish of the red side brackets. I suspect it's (as another reviewer noted) because the pieces were so loosely packaged inside the box that the ends of the silver medal rods (which were wrapped in thin plastic) banged against the red frames (which were wrapped in not-nearly-thick-enough padding). That cosmetic flaw alone I could have lived with, but more importantly:
2.) I strikes me as unsafe by design: The lower front ends of the red brackets are pointy and sharp; consider that these will stick three feet into the garage or basement or wherever this system is mounted on the wall. Now imagine hitting your head or other body parts against that, or the door or window of your car, depending how high and how close to where you park you mount it. Sure, you could stick a tennis ball or something like that onto each of those two areas ... but you shouldn't have to! The designers should have rounded this corner off.

Item does exactly what is it supposed to do. Some reviews have mentioned that the lower corners could be a problem if the rack isn't mounted high enough. My garage has sections of the ceiling that are lower than others (8ft high ceiling vs sections at 9ft). My different ceiling height dictated where the rack could be mounted and not be a head-catcher and I had to end up mounting the tire rack somewhere other than I originally planned. If you have 8ft ceilings, I might not recommend this product otherwise there is potential safety issue. Rack is 28" tall - plan accordingly.
Also, product came with washers for the bolts for the chrome bars but no washers for the lag bolts for mounting to the wall. The slotted holes in the red brackets for mounting to the walls are large enough that the heads of the lag bolts aren't really large enough. I don't think that the bolt heads would have pulled through, but for a product with a 375lb weight limit and mounted above the hood of my car, I thought this was a bit iffy. I ended up taking the rack back down and buying $0.16 of washers and then remounting the rack.
I agree with some of the other reviews that the packaging isn't adequate. Box was undamaged, but inside the chrome bars are supposed to be zip-tied together to prevent them from banging around. Zip-ties broke and minor scuffs to red paint -> not a big deal to me since it is for storing tires, not artwork.
Otherwise a great product and very happy with the price. Much better looking and functioning than building something out of 2x4s. My wife has even commented on how nice her snow tires look stored up out of the way. Knocked off 1star for not including 8 washers required to make mounting the rack easier & for marginal packaging.
